a—————-b, ad INFINITUM, brings theoretical inquiry into contact with experimental art, soundscapes, and installation, using these forms as both mediums and tools for observing transparent media while examining what distinguishes belief from opinion. This inquiry approaches transformation through a body of research informed by nature’s blueprint and its recurring patterns which a question in mind: what does it mean to be human, after all? How do we know?
Letting the River Spill is an exhibition of recent work created by alumni from the School of Art and Design at Texas State University. Through an array of mediums and interests, each artist has continued a practice that at one point unfolded within San Marcos. There is a shared point of passage—a time and place that impacts their work as artists and more deeply, their identities reflected in that work. Letting the River Spill explores that point of passage and how it seeps into these personal trajectories.
Throughline is pleased to present Future Forward, a group exhibition featuring the work of fifteen emerging artists from across Texas, juried by Madi Murphy, Associate Curator of FotoFest. Future Forward will open with a public reception on Friday, August 8, from 6 – 9 pm at Throughline Gallery, 3909 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002. It will be on view through Saturday, August 30, 2025.
Each artist in Future Forward was selected through a juried open call for work by graduate and undergraduate art students, whose practices encompass painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, and textile-based art. As a whole, the exhibition showcases a wide range of creative approaches that reflect diverse lived experiences.
ICOSA Collective presents: Some Kind of Feeling, a juried group exhibition curated by Taylor Danielle Davis
In a world increasingly dependent on technology to translate and record emotions and memories, how do we truly capture a feeling? How does art serve as a vessel for preserving the emotional truths of our experiences? Some Kind of Feeling, showcases works that evoke the fleeting nature of emotion and memory, asking how we preserve the essence of our lived realities as evidence of existence. Through diverse mediums and subject matters, these artists explore the in-between space of feeling — an emotional space that affirms our humanity and stands in its own authenticity. In the search for clarity amid chaos, Some Kind of Feeling offers a sensory and emotional encounter, functioning as both a record and an awakening. These works invite reflection inward and outward, urging us to trust art’s power to transcend words and logic, creating a direct connection to the essence of what it means to feel.
A collaboration with interdisciplinary dance artist, choreographer, and educator, Brandon Gonzalez, creating an immersive video and projection environment for the Merge Dance company of the Texas State University Dance and Theatre Department.
SELF.START(TIME=(0,0’INFTY’)) is a collaboration between Eric Acuña, a multimedia artist and graduate of Texas State University, and Gabriel Mestas, a physics Master’s student of Texas State University. The show explores the depths of our senses through objects, sound, and imagery in a space-based audio-visual environment. The space also examines the use of real-time energy transformation and mathematical representation to illicit the joy of learning and to promote curiosity among viewers.
YOU HAD TO BE THERE : A VIRTUAL GROUP EXHIBITION
In all facets of daily life there have been adjustments across the world in how we interact with one and other during the unique year of 2020. There are troubling changes and fears arising, but with that comes a unique display of personal and group resilience. A digital exhibition titled, You Had to be There, is a memory stamp of our collective effort to create an immersive moment out of the changing way art is displayed at this time in history.
Conversations with the Void
Conversations with the Void highlights the depth and range of creative practice among students graduating in fall semester of 2020. You can find their work displayed online or at Texas State Galleries, where every exhibiting student has selected one piece from their thesis body of work to be shown. Individually, these works are the culmination of each student’s unique journey. As a whole, the exhibition Conversations with the Void speaks to the optimism and resilience of the students' arts practices but still anxious states of being.

Unlisted Projects cultivates & facilitates interdisciplinary meeting points for visiting national/International artists amid a local landscape. We catalyze & nurture connections between visiting artists & the Austin arts ecosystem. Unlisted Projects’ visiting artists live & work along a thriving community of 35 in-house creatives & are supported to collaborate with the greater Austin art community. Each residency period culminates in a public presentation of new work. Our program’s mission is to support, sustain, accelerate & grow interdisciplinary collaboration between Austin & national/international artists.
