Emergence

Summary

The concept of emergence has been used in philosophy, systems theory, science, and art to describe collective processes where an entity emerges due to interaction between its parts.

While emergent properties are not properties of individual components, but rather characteristics of the system as a whole, they serve as examples of natural consistency and regularity.

Emergence produces an immersive and imaginative environment through audio and motion-reactive geometric forms. This study connects the form of water and visual sound projections, creating an exhibition environment through the variation and volumetric manipulation of water-based technologies.

_______________

When a certain sound resonance is detected, Emergence can translate sound and motion-reactive geometric forms into water-based projections and particles. In a self-rejuvenation system, water collects and re-filters using a submersible pump to portal the flow upstream. Through the use of an audio-reactive interface and a 3D visual polygon to simulate the angles within water molecules, a rapidly shifting form is generated by recording the sound of falling water drops in a pool of continuous motion vibrations.
